Eastern Tent Caterpillar Nest

Leaf-feeding caterpillar that forms webbed nests at branch crotches. Other symptoms include chewed foliage and branch defoliation. Both eastern tent caterpillars and forest tent caterpillars are commonly mistaken for gypsy moth larvae by home owners. May be removed by hand, pruned out, or hosed off with water. Spray treatments are very effective.
