The single biggest threat to hardwood trees in the United States at this time. Attacks mature hardwood trees of all types. Spray treatments and trunk injections are not effective. Infested trees have to be destroyed by law and areas quarantined to stop the spread of the beetle. Has been found in New Jersey, New York and Chicago.
